About the Author:
Tom Cunliffe has voyaged in his own gaffers all over the world. He now owns a 20-ton gaff cutter, WESTERMAN, built in 1997, which he sails with his family. He writes regularly for Cruising World and other magazines, and has written 22 books, including Topsail and Battleaxe, Cunliffe on Cruising, and The Complete Yachtsmaster, now in its fourth edition.
