The perennial bestseller from the man behind Latitudes & Attitudes is now available in paperback!

An exciting and hilarious account of Bob Bitchin's extraordinary adventures with his wife, Jody, as they circumnavigate the globe aboard a magnificent staysail ketch,Letters from the LOST SOUL features the whitest beaches, the tallest palm trees, and the finest sailing in all the seven seas. The Bitchins travel thousands of miles all over the world, even making a pilgrimage to Sounion, Greece, where they worship at the temple of Poseidon (who is tattooed on Bob's chest). Along the way, the crew shifts, the winds howl, the waves thrash, and everything that can go wrong does. Throughout it all, Bitchin's irreverence and humor persevere, as does his passion for the sailing lifestyle.

“A five-year dream voyage through the most beautiful and exciting cruising grounds on Earth… This is complete and unabridged, including plenty of full-color photos of the voyage as it happened.” —Lattitudes & Attitudes

“…filled with drama, humor and true stories that will get any landlubber's pulse pounding.” —Today's Librarian

“You can't help but love Bob Bitchin.” —Karen Larson, editor of Good Old Boat

“[Bitchin] romps happily through all the obstacles the high seas can throw his way… It seems as if Bob is spinning the world around under him rather than simply making his way across the planet's surface.” —Chuck Streatch, editor of 48° North

“The refreshingly irreverent ex-biker Bob Bitchin views the high seas as another highway to ride flat-out to fun and adventure. But rather than mayhem, he finds the cruising camaraderie and respect for the sea that all voyagers share.” —Sally Erdle, editor of Caribbean Compass
