On March 19, 1996, Peter and Shirley Billing were taken at gunpoint from their yacht in the Red Sea. Accused of spying, they were locked away and interrogated.

Up to that point they had maintained a regular radio schedule with other sailors, so their disappearance was immediately noticed. So began a tireless effort on the part of friends, relatives, and fellow sailors, as well as the press and British authorities, all working together to secure the Billings' release.

An extraordinary firsthand account of a dramatic episode which grabbed headlines around the world, Red Sea Peril is also a highly compelling cautionary tale for anyone who goes to sea in foreign waters.
